Mehboob Kamadia has delivered at least over a thousand lectures in various parts of the world, to a diverse set of audiences in English, Urdu, Hindi, Kucchhi and Gujarati. He has tried his very best to provide the wonderful knowledge of his faith in a holistic and scientific manner not only to the members of his own community but also to Others: Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Buddhist, agnostics and atheists. He also shares his versatile knowledge with tourists and holidaymakers who join him in various exceptional journeys he leads from time-to-time.
In terms of serving his community on a voluntary basis, Mehboob Kamadia has provided countless sessions of teaching to youth and university students from the mid 80's to 90's. He also delivered several short courses on Islam, Scientific & Qur'anic Cosmologies and Ginan Tradition. This was a period when the youth had virtually no access to publications from the Institute of Ismaili Studies, which has now grown to become an internationally recognized academic centre.
The impact Mehboob Kamadia made on the youth during the foregoing years is succinctly encapsulated in the comments made by two different young professionals who ended serving as community leaders. One of the current community institutional leader had noted:
“He [Mehboob Kamadia] was the first teacher in my young life that inspired me to learn more about the religion. He was able to make religious education interesting and relevant. …His classes were always full, standing room only.”
The other former community institutional leader had stated:
"His unique insight and rich wealth of knowledge enable him to urge and empower the youth to vehemently pursue and gain not simply a superficial acquaintance, but instead a deep, diverse, expansive understanding of the intricacies of our faith. ...My personal interactions with Mehboob over the years have greatly enriched my life, and have provided a springboard for furthering my understanding of the deeper aspects of our faith.”
Given his mesmerizing voice, Mehboob Kamadia has recited countless wedding nikhas in response to special requests. Also, he has sung hundreds of ginans, sacred devotional poems, around the Ismaili world including Tajikistan, Central Asia. He has often recited passages from the Glorious Qur'an not only within his community but also in Christian churches and gatherings.
Surrendering unconditionally to the wishes of the deceased and their families, Mehboob Kamadia has recited countless ziarats, funeral prayers. He has also been extremely fortunate in leading funeral prayers of some of the members of the ahlul-Bayt (family of the Imam). Among various other services, he has literally spent hundreds of hours providing psycho-spiritual counselling to individuals who have faced various hardships in life.
